Hayden Lavinge signs back for the 25/26 season!
The 29-year-old shot stopper of Brampton, Ontario, played his youth hockey in North America and spent four years with the University of Michigan between 2016-2020.
After his time at uni, he featured mostly in the East Coast Hockey League, appearing for the Wichita Thunder, Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Allen Americans, Reading Royals and the Wheeling Nailers - where he iced alongside a certain Cam Hough, as well as Sheffield Steelers’ forward Patrick Watling and Nottingham Panthers forward Matt Alfaro, alongside others who have since made the move to the Elite League.
Hayden’s first move to England came in 2022/23 when he signed for the EIHL Manchester Storm and went on to spend time with the Steelers later that season.
He returned to the States for 2023/24, icing for the Evansville Thunderbolts in the SPHL.
He arrived in Peterborough ahead of the 2024/25 season and played 49 regular season games, collecting 29 wins and a save percentage of 90.7%.
His postseason stats were equally solid as a string of fine performances backstopped Phantoms to the NIHL Final Four Grand Final in Coventry. Hayden finished the playoffs as the second highest performing goalie, trailing Renny Marr by just 0.01% in the save percentage rankings.
And now, our #30 will be taking to the Peterborough ice once again for his second season in Phantoms colours!
Hayden said the following on his return to Peterborough for a second year: “I am extremely excited to be back! Last season was one of my favourite years of my professional career. I feel as though I really started to find my game towards the back half of the season and left some unfinished business on the table.
"Right now I’m looking forward to the off season in full swing and getting ready for next year!” Hayden concluded.
