Jordan Cownie Re-signs With The Lightning
Milton Keynes Lightning are thrilled to announce the return of forward Jordan Cownie for the 2025/26 NIHL National season.

After a standout campaign last year, Cownie is set to don the #95 jersey once again, bringing his elite playmaking and leadership back to Planet Ice MK.

A product of Dundee, Scotland, Cownie has enjoyed a decorated career across both the NIHL and EIHL, including stints with the Dundee Stars, Guildford Flames, and Glasgow Clan. His return to MK Lightning in 2024 marked a homecoming of sorts, reigniting a connection with fans and teammates that had been forged during his earlier tenure with the club.

“I’m delighted to be back,” said Cownie. “MK is becoming a second home for me, and to be able to build on what we achieved last season is something that really excites me. The club and support is the best I’ve experienced, and I’m really excited to get going again.”

Head Coach Tim Wallace praised Cownie’s impact both on and off the ice:

“Cowns is a highly skilled player who had an excellent season last year. He quickly established himself as a leader and has continued to elevate his game. We are excited to welcome him back and fully expect him to make an immediate impact next season.”

Cownie’s return bolsters a Lightning squad aiming to build upon last season’s momentum. His vision, creativity, and experience will be vital assets as MKL sets its sights on championship contention.
