CJ Garcia Joins The Steeldogs!
The Steeldogs showed their serious intentions for the 2025-26 season by adding experienced blue liner CJ Garcia to our roster.

The hard nosed defenseman joins the Steeldogs from the Elite League’s Manchester Storm where he has played the last two seasons scorings 4 goals, 25 points in 128 games.

Prior to his arrival in the UK, Garcia had played two years in Europe with Anglet (France) and CSM Corona Brasov (Romania)

Before that, CJ played five seasons of Major Junior Hockey in the OHL for Barrie Colts, Guelph Storm and Saginaw Spirit.

Speaking of his arrival in Sheffield, CJ Garcia said “I’m excited about joining the Steeldogs organisation and being part of a strong team, which will be competing for trophies.

“I like the direction that the club is heading and after speaking with all those involved felt that this was the right move for me. I can’t wait to get things started”

Steeldogs General Manager Jamie Mcllroy said “When reviewing where we needed to strengthen our team for next Season, our defensive core was a priority. Adding a player of CJ’s quality and experience is a real coup for the organisation.

He comes to us after spending the past two Seasons with the Manchester Storm in the EIHL, where he quickly became a fan favourite. He’s a strong-skating, physical, puck-moving Defenseman; everything we need to enhance our back end. As well as his time in the EIHL, he’s got experience from playing Major Junior, USports, ECHL and in the Magnus League.

In our initial discussions with CJ, it quickly became apparent that his drive and ambition aligned perfectly with ours and he has a real hunger to win. He’ll be a go-to-guy in all situations and we’re immediately stronger by having him on the team. I’ve got absolutely no doubt the Steeldogs supporters will love his game and he’ll be a popular player.”
