Thompson and Henderson both re-sign with the Tigers!

David joined the club midway through last season and had a huge impact on the team’s improved performances. Thomson scored a remarkable 71 points in 37 games including 34 goals, which saw him finish the season as Tigers’ top goalscorer despite missing a number of games through injury.

David commented on his signing for the club, “I’m thrilled to have signed a new contract with Telford Tigers. I had a great time in Telford last season and was delighted with how well the organisation as a whole welcomed me to the club. Returning to Telford also allows me an opportunity to finish my masters degree and continue to play hockey.”

Thomson continued, “I had my best career scoring season last season and settled in straight away. I am looking forward to getting started again and I know that Tom (Watkins) will be looking to strengthen the roster from last year.”

Henderson scored a remarkable 94 points last season, despite playing only 48 games. 

Eric commented on his signing for the club, “I’m delighted to be returning to Telford for the forthcoming season. I really enjoyed my time at the club last season and I am looking forward to coming back. The fans made me feel really welcome and I had my best season points wise so I want to continue that trend and make this a memorable season for everyone in Telford.”

Tom Watkins, Head Coach and General Manager, commented on the signing of Henderson.

“Eric is another player where we know exactly what we are getting. I really like Hendo’s (Henderson) game, he does all the little things at a high level, protects the puck very well, is good along the walls and can transport the puck through the zones with a low risk game and with plenty of reward. He’s one of those players who makes those around him better, he makes big plays and scores big goals.
