Top 3 NIHL Players Of Playoffs Week 2
1. Owen Sobchak
It was a phenomenal weekend for the top point scorer of the league who proved he’s not only a top class playmaker but also a prolific goal scorer. On Saturday night he scored a hat-trick in the Seahawks 7-6 overtime victory including the tying goal with 14 seconds left of the game to make it 6-6. Then on Sunday he scored another hat-trick and an assist to make it a seven point weekend for the Canadian.
2. Reed Morison
Another Canadian at number two in Morison who also had a monster weekend to help the Raiders secure all four points. On Friday night he scored four goals in Romford’s 5-4 victory away in Sheffield. Then on Sunday he scored another and assisted to make it a six point weekend.
3. Matt Bissonnette
The Leeds Knights forward completes an all Canadian top three with a stellar weekend. On Saturday night he scored twice and assisted twice for a four-point game. Then on Sunday he scored another two goals including the game tying goal and empty net which puts the Knights back at the top of their group. He is the joint top point scorer of the playoffs with Morison.
Honourable Mentions:
A fantastic weekend for netminder Hayden Lavigne who helped the Phantoms to a four-point weekend and sits top of the goalie stats in the playoffs. Dillon Lawrence scored four goals across the weekend for the Lightning. Bricknell has carried his goalscoring form to the playoffs with three against the Lightning including the overtime winner on Saturday night. Then Cameron Hough scored a hat-trick in the Phantoms 4-2 win on Sunday night.
