9/9/2026

17-year-old Alfie Goddard enjoyed a debut weekend to remember, making his first appearance in the NIHL for the Basingstoke Bison before finding the net on Sunday night.

Goddard, who is currently on a two-way agreement between the Bison and Swindon Wildcats 2 in NIHL1, was given his opportunity at senior level last weekend in pre-season.

The young forward made his NIHL debut on the saturday before capping off the weekend with his first goal in the league against the Bristol Pitbulls on Sunday.

Goddard’s goal came during Basingstoke’s 6-1 victory and proved to be the eventual game-winning goal, marking an impressive start to life in the league for the 17-year-old.

While still at the beginning of his senior career, Goddard has shown plenty of promise and will now look to build on his first NIHL appearances as the season progresses.

A debut, a first goal and a game-winning goal all in the same weekend, a memorable introduction to NIHL hockey for Alfie Goddard.

Well done, Alfie.
