Stewart Returns to Milton Keynes for Final Playing Season!
Milton Keynes Lightning have confirmed the return of forward Liam Stewart ahead of the 2026/27 NIHL season.

Stewart rejoins the Lightning after spending four previous seasons with the club, having first arrived midway through the 2019/20 campaign. During his time in Milton Keynes, he established himself as a key figure in the lineup, recording more than 250 points in over 170 appearances before taking a two-year break from the club.

The experienced forward returns to an NIHL side looking to challenge throughout the upcoming season and brings a wealth of experience to the roster. Known for his physical style of play, strong two-way game and leadership qualities, Stewart has consistently been an influential presence wherever he has played.

Lightning Head Coach Pete Russell welcomed the return of the forward, highlighting his competitiveness and ability to impact games at both ends of the ice.

Russell described Stewart as a player who competes naturally, thrives in difficult areas of the ice and possesses the ability to change games when required. He also noted the forward's leadership qualities and expressed his enthusiasm about having him back in the squad for the upcoming campaign.

Stewart also spoke of his excitement at returning to Milton Keynes, confirming that the 2026/27 season will be the final campaign of his playing career.
