Swindon Wildcats Become NIHL 25/26 League Champions!
With a four-point weekend and a dramatic overtime victory against the Sheffield Steeldogs, the Wildcats secured the league title.
A special last season for head coach Aaron Nell as he prepares to retire from playing. After announcing earlier in the year that this would be his final season on the ice, Nell now gets to lift the league trophy, the perfect way to end his playing career while continuing to lead from the bench.
This is the first time the Swindon Wildcats have won the NIHL 2nd Division title. What makes it even more impressive is how little the team has changed over the years. The group has stayed together, built strong chemistry, and grown into champions.
The Wildcats were the most consistent side in the league, finishing with 29 regulation wins and just nine regulation losses. Their success was built on a strong defence — conceding the fewest goals in the league and having the best penalty kill record.
Congratulations to everyone involved with the Swindon Wildcats organisation. Enjoy the celebrations, they are well deserved.
