Leeds Knights sign Latvian forward, Artus Mickevics!
The Morley Glass Leeds Knights are delighted to announce the signing of Latvian forward Arturs Mickevics for the upcoming 2025/26 NIHL National season.

Mickevics becomes the Knights’ latest import addition as Head Coach Ryan Aldridge continues to build a roster capable of challenging for silverware. The 34-year-old brings a wealth of international experience and offensive talent to West Yorkshire, having previously played in some of Europe’s top leagues.

A native of Latvia, Mickevics has represented his country at U18 and U20 levels and most recently iced in France with Gap, where he was a consistent point producer. Known for his speed, creativity, and nose for goal, Mickevics will add depth and attacking threat to an already exciting Knights forward group.

Speaking about his move to the UK, Mickevics said: “I am excited about getting started. It is a new chapter in my career, and I just want to jump in. I need to make sure I fit well into the team because they have done pretty well in this league. And I am going to try and adapt for the guys and to be helpful to them. Ryan has impressed me and has been really kind to me; we've exchanged a lot of messages over the summer. You never like to describe yourself as a player, but I’m pretty fast, if I can say that, but you will see - I will try to be around everywhere.”

Knights Head Coach Ryan Aldridge welcomed the new addition: “We’re looking for him to come in and add a lot to our offence, that’s for sure. The career he has had, he is an out and out professional, he wants to be in the rink, he wants to be on the ice, he is that kind of guy, wants to be around the team, around the locker room.”
