Max Wright signs with the Basingstoke Bison!
Wright arrives in Basingstoke following a strong campaign with the Berkshire Bees. The 24-year-old goaltender brings composure, and a fierce competitive edge to the Bison crease as Head Coach Jeff Flanagan continues to build a team ready to battle every night.
Speaking about the signing, Head Coach Jeff Flanagan said: "Max is a goalie who knows the league, having played in the NIHL last season. He finished the year with a 90.73% save percentage, which speaks to both his consistency and work ethic. With previous success in the NIHL behind him and solid experience from his time at Lakehead University, we’re very happy to have him join the Bison.”
Originally from Ontario, Wright developed his game in the highly competitive Canadian junior leagues before making the move to the UK, quickly establishing himself as a reliable starter in the NIHL.
On signing with the Bison, Wright shared his excitement: "I'm very excited to be a part of bringing ice hockey back to Basingstoke and I'm very grateful to be playing for such a passionate fanbase. I'm looking forward to competing alongside my teammates with winning being our number one objective. See you in September!”
With Wright joining the Herd, the Bison strengthen their defensive core and add a proven performer between the pipes ahead of a highly anticipated 2025/26 campaign.
